MD/MS MANAGEMENT SEATS

All PG seats will get filled during the counselling period but some vacant seats may remain as the student might not have fulfilled their registration requirement in time.

These seats are being provided to the college and are filled through them. these seats become the management quota seats and the candidates can get direct MD/ MS admission.
For admission purpose 5% seats in private colleges and 60% seats in deemed universities come under the management quota for indian students.
Many a times the NRI vacant seats are also changed into management seats in the mop-up round counselling in this way the number of direct admission increases.
For direct PG medical admission, the candidate must have cleared the NEET –PG examination with all required eligiblity.

Postgradute Diploma

The postgraduate diploma program gives opportunity to doctors to learn and apply their medical knowledge & develop expertise.
The PG diploma is a 2-3 year course which depends on the stream you opted for. Moreover, one can go for full or part time courses.
There are total 19 courses that are recognized by MCI.
The study in diploma is same as in postgraduate degree courses but there is no thesis submission. Apart from it, the classes and the practice remains the same.

Admission Process

The admission process for PG medical courses (MD/ MS/ PG Diploma) is conducted through the NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) exam only.
NEET PG score is important and it is used for the admission process in the counselling conducted by directorate general of health services where the 50% all india quota seats are allotted.
The seats of central government institutions and deemed institutions are allotted in this counselling

PG MEDICAL EDUCATION IN INDIA

Doctors who want to specialize in a particular subject domain area choose to go for their post-graduation study.
Medical study after MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) will divide itself into two different specialization streams, Doctors of Medicine (MD), and Masters in Surgery (MS).
While some doctors also go to do postgraduate diploma courses available in medical colleges.
The pg courses imparted in medical colleges in india are approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
To get a seat in a renowned medical college providing pg medical education is a challenging process for doctors.

COURSES OFFERED:

MD

This postgraduate degree in medicine is for the doctors who want to specialize in medicine.
The study comprises of subjects that include Non-Surgical topics.
This syllabus includes diagnostic investigation procedures, counselling of patients, monitoring patients, and handling of medical equipment.
The md course period is of 3 years with 29 different concentrations.
after having a md degree, the doctors are entitled to work as a physician in any medical field.
As the MD degree is ends, the doctors can study for DM (Doctorate of Medicine). There are 19525 seats available all over India.

MS

MS is a 3 years post–graduation specialization course for providing the doctors with surgical skills.
During this course, the students study about the applied basic sciences, surgery including surgical pathology, surgery including traumatology and contemporary developments in the medical field.
After completion of MS degree, the doctors can work as surgeons in different hospitals, laboratories, and in health centres etc.
MS comprises of 6 specializations.
M.ch is a postdoctoral program for those doctors who want to do it after their MS degree.
Total seats available in India for this course is 10601.

MD/MS ADMISSION THROUGH MANAGEMENT QUOTA

Now things have changed a lot. In past the admission to MD/ MS through management quota was quite easy. Earlier the vacant seats of MD/MS were allotted by the approval of private board members only of the specific medical colleges.
At present, NEET PG is compulsory for the process of direct admission in MD/ MS courses.
MD/ MS admission through management quota is applicable if you fulfill NEET eligibility criteria.
The process for direct admission in MD/ MS begins in the last round which is called Mop-up Rounds.
The first three rounds of counselling are fruitful for those who are having good NEET score.
