About MBBS :

MBBS, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, is a 5.5-years duration UG course. The course tenure is split into 4.5 years of core study and 1 year of internship in any field of medicine.
MBBS course is split into 9 semesters. In the period of 4.5 years, Students will learn & study comprehensively various subjects such as anatomy, pediatrics, physiology, pathology, anesthesiology, community medicine, surgery, etc.
To fulfill the MBBS course eligibility criteria, Aspirants should complete their 10+2 examination with 50% marks in the science stream with biology as a compulsory subject.
Admission to MBBS course to aspirants is only through entrance exam. NEET is the sole entrance exam for MBBS.

Ayush Minister Shri Shripad Naik’s led panel of ministers given recommendation of reducing MBBS duration from 5.5 years to 4.5 years. The panel also suggested a compulasory 2-year rural posting of doctors before granting the MBBS degree.
